Old methods involved wrapping a heated metal strip (called a band heater) around the outside of the container. Dangerous and ineffective, band heaters and immersion heaters are being replaced with a new method called GreenHeat Technology.

Powerblanket LLC has patented a heat spreading technology that delivers a barrier of uniform heat to temperature sensitive materials. Pictured below is a BH55-130 Powerblanket Drum Heater. GreenHeat Technology incorporates uniform heating with insulate materials to deliver a very effective heating and insulating solution for industrial materials.
